Heya. Here's a little history for ya'.

I created this spacescape back in 2006 for a scholastic project. The moon was extracted from a GIS image, while the rest was made completely from scratch. I found myself thinking of it earlier today, so I searched my external HD for it, and lo and behold, I found it.


Looking at it now, the cut out of the moon is very obviously an Elliptical Selection boundary, and the clustering of the stars is kinda off, but that's the benefit of three additional years of practice. As it is, I find it a rather interesting look back, and who knows, some of you may like it.


I had made it originally for printing as a flier background, so I was able to make it nice and large as a wallpaper. I added the title to it - superimposed over the nebula-esque thing - and voila: instant wallpaper.


Since it's so huge, I left it at a more manageable size for the on-site preview. The full downloadable size is 1600 x 1280, a 5:4 ratio (same ratio as the popular 1280 x 1024) - I decided to forgo making it exclusively for my screen resolution, as I'm sure most all of you know how to resize or crop as necessary to fit your monitor if you want to use it.
