It's Carrie time!
Carrie Underwood is quite possibly my favorite subject for background-making: Firstly, she's simply beautiful, making it incredibly difficult to make a background that doesn't look good. Secondly, she's decent, meaning I could use any shot I come across, without having to skirt around images involving copious skin or general "sexy"ness.
This wallpaper is composed of two shots from way back in 2-years-ago, which would be '05, for anyone not keeping track. The background image was duplicated and Clone-Stamped seamless so as to be wide enough to accommodate the composition, including a few Clone-Stamped sections from a third shot for foliage variety so it wasn't obvious I was repeating things. Color-matching the three shots was fun beyond measure...
A subtle blur was placed on the background, then removed from Background-Carrie's face to direct focus. Add in a mild vignette and some not-so-mild saturation enhancement, and you've got yourself a striking image, thanks in no small part to its subject.
The handwriting font used for the sign-off is the excellent freeware font Windsong
, with manual variance (eraser style) edited into the first "d".
As you may have guessed by the site URL under the bar, the images were acquired from the galleries at Carrie-Forever.com
. Since the acquisition of said photos, however, that site went belly-up, as they say. Nonetheless, the terms under which I downloaded the images mandated that I include said URL, and who would I be were I to disrespect a websites dying wish.
If you wish to view the original shots, they are also available at another fansite that is not dead in the following gallery: [link]

Thanks for viewing!
This shot was featured in my Syntrofuge browser skin as the background. Check it out!
